DETOXES VS CLEANSES

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CLEANSE AND A DETOX:

Cleanse: A first level removal of stagnant, excessive and often thickened buildup. This usually involves significant changes in diet, lifestyle and spiritual disciplines. Cleanses should be precipitated with removal of diet choices that often add to buildup such as dairy products, meat products, refined and processed products, and stimulants. Lifestyle changes to be considered are increase of movement, breathing and specific exercises to support excretion of the buildup. Also consider removing sources of negative energy, negative emotions and limiting beliefs. This process is normally conducted for 7 to 14 days prior to the cleanse. The cleanse itself is often supported with herbs or homeopathics. It is conducted over a period of 3 to 10 days. After the cleanse there is a rebuilding phase which includes nutrients, probiotics and lifestyle/spiritual disciplines. Cleanses can be tailored to target specific excretory organs or organ systems.
Detoxification (Detox): This is a deeper level elimination that involves the body structures such as specific organs, cells and even molecular makeup and cell memory. It involves the removal of toxins. This includes heavy metals, chemicals, pharmaceutical byproducts, petrochemical byproducts, agricultural byproducts, miasms, etc.  Detoxes are always supported with herbs and or homeopathy. Specific manual therapies can also be utilized such as acupuncture, chiropractic, drainage massage and energy therapies. I recommend a detox after a cleanse for optimal effectiveness.
